Welcome to Emergency Docket
The Constitution, courts, and legal conservatism
If you’re reading this, you may have some questions about Emergency Docket. The answers are all below.
What is Emergency Docket?
Emergency Docket is a new platform dedicated to originalist analysis of current constitutional cases and controversies. As a pre-law student at Hillsdale College, I started this publication because I believe we need more young originalists engaging seriously with the constant stream of constitutional questions our nation is facing.
What you’ll find here:
Breakdowns of the Supreme Court’s cases
Summaries of lower court opinions
Analysis of legislation before litigation
Examinations of individual areas of constitutional law
And so much more to come
Who is Running This?
Formerly, this was my personal Substack, and I ran it as a one-person newsletter. Emergency Docket, however, will be a forum for thoughtful constitutional conversation. If you’re an undergrad, law student, clerk, or new lawyer who shares an appreciation for the Constitution’s original meaning, you’re invited to pitch a guest piece at any time.
When do Posts Come Out?
For paid subscribers, multiple posts will be made each week. For free subscribers, free previews of posts will be available, but only the occasional free post will be published.
How do I Follow Along?
Emergency Docket will typically follow the standard Substack subscription model, with free and paid plans available. Since this is launching the week of July 4, 2026, there will be two unbeatable offers available in the first month:
250 OFFER: Monthly subscription for $2.50/month (LIFETIME).
1776 OFFER: Annual subscription for $17.76/year (FIRST YEAR).
You may also subscribe for free if desired.
Thank you for joining me at the beginning of this project. I hope you enjoy Emergency Docket. Feel free to send with any questions to editor@emergencydocket.com.
Welcome to the Docket.
